Sheldon Commissions

The Mizzou New Music Initiative is pleased to partner with SLSO's Live at The Sheldon Concert Series in St. Louis. The project originated when Sheldon Program Advisor Paul Reuter -- a Mizzou graduate in with an MA in Music Composition (under Dr. W. Thomas McKenney) -- and Jeanne Sinquefield discussed ways to provide Mizzou composers opportunities to have their chamber works performed at the historic Sheldon Concert Hall by St. Louis-based musicians, including members of the St. Louis Symphony.

Each season, several Mizzou student and faculty composers are commissioned to write new chamber works to be premiered at the Sheldon. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for a Sheldon Commission, and each season's composers are selected by University of Missouri Composition faculty members.
